Pictou County is looking to go greener.
At last night’s monthly meeting, council passed a motion setting the goal for the Municipal
Government to become a net-zero emitter of carbon dioxide by 2031, and to help citizens, businesses and community organizations reduce fossil fuel consumption by at least 50 percent over the same time frame.
Council will prepare an updated Municipal Climate Change Action Plan to work out how to achieve these goals.
