Pictou County Resident Is The New President and CEO of NS Health

Dr. Nicole Boutilier is the new president and CEO of Nova Scotia Health. 

She takes over from Karen Oldfield, who held the position since 2021. Boutilier, who was born and still  resides in Pictou County, graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1995. She served in leadership roles in the past and was the executive vice president for Nova Scotia Health prior to the new appointment.  

When asked about the roles of the president and CEO, Boutilier said it is to oversee all the operations, finances, and everything to do with Nova Scotia Health in terms of the corporate, clinical, and medical functions. 

Boutilier said there was a lot of transformation in the health care system over the last few years, adding the plan is to continue to transform the system and focus on what’s best for patients, employees, and communities.
