The 92nd Pictou Lobster Carnival begins this evening with the opening ceremonies kicking off at 5:30, followed by a lobster banding competition, the Pictou Yacht Club Parade of sails, the beer garden and a main stage performance from the Crash Test Dummies, and the fireworks at 10 p.m.
Tomorrow will feature a pancake breakfast, a children’s parade, the little mermaid and prince Neptune pageant in the morning. In the afternoon there will be dory boat races, lobster boat races, the John Shaw memorial lobster trap hauling contest, the mardi gras street parade, and Classified will take the mainstage in the evening.
Sunday begins with the antique car show, followed by a tug of war, canoe races, and a mainstage performance from Jimmy Rankin.
