The deadline to apply for the District of Guysborough’s low-income tax exemption has been

extended. Households earning less than twenty-five thousand dollars annually will now have until October 31 to apply for the exemption. Following Wednesday night’s regular monthly council meeting, Guysborough Warden Vernon Pitts expressed concern that CERB payments may negatively affect individuals who would otherwise be eligible for the exemption.
The matter is to be discussed at an upcoming strategic planning session.
