The Antigonish/Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement Unit seized drugs and firearms and recovered two motorcycles during two searches near Antigonish.
On Wednesday, officers searched residences on Summerside Road in Heatherton and Williams Point Road in Antigonish as part of an ongoing investigation. The Antigonish/Guysborough SCEU led the search with support from other agencies.
During the searches, officers arrested two people and seized cocaine and methamphetamine, firearms, and two motorcycles from one of the residences. At the other residence, officers seized prohibited weapons and a quantity of cash.
Raymond James “RJ” Kerwin faces a total of 25 charges, including two counts of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking and multiple firearms offences. He had a first court appearance on Friday at Antigonish Provincial Court and remains in custody pending a next court appearance scheduled for June 19.
The other person arrested was released by police on conditions pending a future court appearance scheduled for August 26 at Antigonish Provincial Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
