NSLC to Add More Cannabis Stores

Feb 14, 2020 | Local News

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation will be adding 14 more stores to sell cannabis, including two locally.

Finance and Treasury Board Minister Karen Casey says among the NSLC stores that will be renovated to permit cannabis sales are outlets in Port Hawkesbury and Baddeck. Other stores that will soon to be selling marijuana products are in Annapolis Royal, Barrington Passage, Berwick, Elmsdale, Glace Bay, Liverpool, Mahone Bay, Mill Cove, Sydney Mines, Tacoma Drive in Dartmouth, Tantallon and Tatamagouche.

Casey says some of the new locations will be ready this fall and all will be completed by the end of the next fiscal year. The addition of the 14 new outlets will result in a total of 26 cannabis stores across Nova Scotia.

She says the additional stores will help address geographic gaps and to better combat the illicit market.
