Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Strang held a rare briefing Sunday to announce new measures aimed at containing the spread of COVID-19.  Rankin says the virus is spreading and measures must to be taken to contain it.  Rankin says it is limiting inside and outside gatherings outside of HRM to 10, including your family household.  More gathering limits are being reviewed for cultural and sports events; further details will be released Monday.  Rankin says it’s asking Nova Scotians to limit travel even further.

Rankin says the province is also doubling fines for breaking any part of the order under the Health Protection Act to $2,000.

Employers are also asked to encourage and support employees to work from home as much as possible to help reduce possible contacts.
