The Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness announced 15 new cases of COVID-19,
bringing the provincial total of active cases to 63.
Eight cases are in Central Zone. Four are close contacts of previously reported cases, one of which was identified Sunday, at South Woodside Elementary School. Three cases are under investigation, one of which was identified on Sunday at St. Joseph’s-Alexander McKay Elementary School. The other case is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.
Six cases are in Eastern Zone. One is a close contact of a previously reported case and the others are related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.
One case is in Western Zone and is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.
The people are self-isolating, as required.
As of Sunday, 207,563 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the province. Of those, 32,496 Nova Scotians have received their second dose.
Starting this week, people 60 and older can book appointments at community clinics, pharmacies and primary care clinics offering the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. Provincial health officials say there are also some vaccine appointments for AstraZeneca that remain open for Nova Scotians 55 to 64 years of age.
To book your appointment, you can go online to www.novascotia.ca/vaccination or call 1-833-797-7772. Appointments cannot be booked directly through a community clinic, pharmacy or physician. Walk-ins will be turned away.
