border protocols.

During an update Wednesday, Strang said none of Nova Scotia’s four active cases are related to the outbreaks in New Brunswick, which experienced a recent uptick in covid cases in Moncton and Campbellton. Since the last provincial briefing on October 6, Nova Scotia announced three cases of COVID-19. Strang said two were related to travel outside of the country and one was a close contact of the first two. All are self-isolating.

Strang said he is in regular contact with other chief medical health officers in the Atlantic provinces. He added contacts in New Brunswick say the cases are in known family, facility, or social group clusters, and they have not identified community spread at this time. There is also no evidence of increased risk to people travelling to or through these area, and because of this, the province is not planning any changes to its border protocols, though they will monitor the situation.
