Provincial and family court judge Richard MacKinnon has retired. Officials with the Justice

Department say MacKinnon’s last day was February 26th.
Judge MacKinnon graduated with an Arts degree from St. FX University in 1973 and from the Dalhousie Law School in 1976. Before he was a judge, MacKinnnon was a senior Crown lawyer with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service in Port Hawkesbury. He practiced law for 32 years.
Judge MacKinon was appointed to the Provincial and Family Courts in 2009.
He has presided in Provincial Court in Bridgewater, Truro and most recently Antigonish.
