Quick thinking from a passer-by and fast response from Fire Department saves Port Hawkesbury Business

It was a very close call at a Port Hawkesbury business overnight.

In a social media post, the owner  of the Fleur-de-Lis Tea Room and Dining Room Brenda Chisholm-Beaton says she could have lost her small business to a careless cigarette butt cast into one of its flower pots.

However she says the business was saved thanks to quick thinking of a man using the bank machine nearby who alerted authorities.  Port Hawkesbury Volunteer Firefighters quickly responded and put out the fire.
