This year’s edition of the Jeffrey Murray Award for Accessible and Inclusive Communities went to Randy Crouse. The award presentation was part of Access Awareness Week.

Participants in the Challenger Baseball Program in Antigonish were on hand to congratulate Randy Crouse on receiving the Jeffery Murray Award for Accessible and Inclusive Communities.
Crouse is behind Antigonish Challenger Baseball, which has been going strong in the area for the last 13 years. Course called the award a true honor, noting he met Jeff through Challenger Baseball and on a personal level in the community. Crouse called Jeff an awesome person who made people around him better, adding that receiving an award with Jeff’s name on it is special.
Crouse said the award is part of a group effort, saying he’s been fortunate to work with amazing groups, teams, and individuals in the area.
STFX University established the award after the passing of Jeffrey Murray in 2024. Murray was an avid supporter of STFX athletics and a cherished community member. Last year’s recipient of the award was Brendan Doyle, for his work in making the Antigonish Arena more accessible.
