The search continues in the northern Inverness County community of Meat Cove for wanted 
man who fled into a wooded area with a firearm.
On Monday, police alerted residents to stay in their homes as officers looked for 33-year-old Perry MacKinnon who was last seen in a camouflage jacket and blue track pants.
RCMP say they have received tips from the public and officers are following those up.
Police says people should continue to stay inside and await updates.
A warrant was issued for MacKinnon last August after he failed to show up for a court appearance on several weapons charges in Sydney.
