RCMP announced the arrest of Jason Sterling Carpenter, who was wanted on a province-wide warrant.
The Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU), with the assistance of Pictou County District RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Service, New Glasgow Regional Police and Stellarton Police Service, made the arrest in New Glasgow.
The 46-year-old man from MacLellans Brook faces multiple charges stemming from an investigation into impaired operation of a conveyance that occurred on November 9. The charges include two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, seven counts of failure to comply with a release order, and single counts each of impaired operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, and unauthorized possession of a fire arm.
The RCMP thanks members of the public for their support in locating Carpenter.
