RCMP in Pictou County Charge man with Several Counts including Attempted Murder Following a Motor Vehicle Crash

Pictou District County RCMP charged a 30-year-old man from Pictou with attempted murder and other offences following a motor vehicle collision in Pictou.

On May 29 at approximately 2:50 p.m., police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in which a car struck a home on Elm Drive in Pictou.

Police determined the driver had been trying to injure a person standing on the front porch of the home. The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male passenger of the car remained on scene and was treated by EHS for non-life-threatening injuries. The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police searched the area for the driver with assistance from the RCMP Police Dog Services. Reports came in that the driver was running naked in the woods. Another call came in that the driver had broken into a home on Wallis Drive and stolen a blanket. Shortly after, the driver was arrested without incident on Wallis Street and taken to hospital.

Patrick Jordan Anthony McClellan remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on June 3. He faces charges of attempted murder, dangerous operation of a conveyance, break and enter, theft, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of public nudity, and one count of indecent act. The investigation is ongoing.
