Pictou County District RCMP is investigating a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Sherbrooke Road in Eden Lake.
RCMP, fire and EHS were called to the scene at approximately 12:15 a.m. on February 5th . RCMP officers learned that a Toyota Corolla had been travelling on Sherbrooke Rd. when it left the roadway and struck a ditch.
A passenger, a 16-year-old from Pictou, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries. That person was transported to local hospital by EHS and then transferred to a hospital in Halifax by LifeFlight.
The 18-year-old driver from Scotch Hill and a second passenger, a 17-year-old from Pictou, suffered minor injuries and were transported to hospital. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Sherbrooke Road was closed temporarily but has since reopened.
