RCMP have arrested a man and charged him under the Cannabis Act after pulling over a pick-up truck in Irish Cove, in eastern Richmond County.
Police stopped the vehicle, a Dodge Ram 1500, after an officer clocked the truck travelling at 113 kilometres an hour in a 80 kilometre zone on December 27th. Through a roadside inspection, RCMP say the officer learned the driver, a 20-year-old man from New Waterford, was transporting a large quantity of illicit cannabis. The driver was arrested.
