RCMP Lay Charges in connection with Allegations of Fraud at Coady International Institute

Police announced charges were laid relating to allegations of fraud at StFX’s Coady International

Coady International Institute at St. FX University

Institute.

RCMP charged 53-year-old James Edward Marlow of Lower South River with Theft Over $5000 and Fraud Over $5000. The charges stem from a complaint that was made to Antigonish RCMP in July of 2018.

Police arrested Marlow without incident on September 27 and laid charges on October 2. Following his arrest, Marlow was released from custody on conditions. He is scheduled to attend Antigonish Provincial Court on December 19.

A release form the RCMP stated the investigation is ongoing.

When contacted for comment, StFX media relations manager Cindy MacKenzie said the matter is before the courts so administration are not making further comment at this time.
