Ryan Leil Appointed Deputy Chief of New Glasgow Regional Police

The New Glasgow Regional Police has a new Deputy Police Chief. Ryan Leil, a New Glasgow native, brings more than 16 years of operational policing to the job. He started with the police force in 2004.

Leil started in General Patrol and was later promoted to the rank of Corporal, where he was assigned to the Sergeant in charge of the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit in 2016. He was promoted to the rank of Detective Sergeant in 2018, where he served as officer in charge of the New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit.

Leil began his new role on Friday. Leil replaces Stephen Chisholm who was appointed New Glasgow Police Chief just over a month ago.
