The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce honoured its best last night with its 28th annual
Business Achievement Awards at the deCoste Performing Arts Centre.
The recipient of the Large Business Award was Sullivan Fuels, while for a Small Business, the honour went to Our Turn to Cook. The Barrie MacMillan Entrepreneur of the Year is Bruce and Joyce Winmill. The Business Engagement recipient is the Hemlock Group and for Leadership in Business, the honour went to S. W. Weeks Construction.
Frank Sobey received the Lifetime Achievement Award. In his acceptance speech asked the audience to think about the words technology, talent and trust.
Best New Business was Tabitha and Company, while the Community Partners Award was handed to Margie Grant-Walsh of Big Brothers Big Sisters and Michelle Ward of Kids First.
The recipient of the Export Achievement Award was J. J. MacKay Meters. The Women in Business Award went to Sherry Blinkhorn of Blinkhorn Real Estate, while Glen Haven Manor received the Diversity in Business Award.
Special Recognition was given to the Bennett Family
