X-Women Soccer forward Amanda Smith is the STFX Female Athlete of the Week. Smith, a second year Education student in her 5th year of eligibility from Ottawa, Ontario, was the player of the game in two X-Women shutout wins this weekend, scoring 6 goals and 3 assists. In Friday’s 8-0 win over Moncton, Amanda scored 4 goals and had 3 assists. She followed up by scoring both X-Women goals in Saturday’s 2-0 win over UNB, leading the U SPORTS No. 5 ranked STFX to a perfect 12-0-0 undefeated season atop the AUS conference. Smith finished tied for first in AUS scoring with 28 points, was second in goals with 22, and moved to third overall in AUS career goals scored with 50.

X-Men Soccer midfielder Logan Rieck is the STFX Male Athlete of the Week. Rieck, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Cambridge, Ontario was the player of the game in both X-Men shutout wins this weekend. In Friday’s 3-0 win over Moncton, he scored one goal and had an assist as the U SPORTS No. 9 ranked X-Men clinched a first-round playoff bye. He followed up with a two-goal performance Saturday in STFX’s 3-0 win over UNB. Rieck finished tied for first in AUS scoring with 11 points and third in goals scored this season with 8.
