Graduation-related events for schools in the Strait Regional Centre for Education will for the
most part return to a pre-pandemic mode this month. The SRCE’s Regional Executive Director of Education, Paul Landry, says graduation is an important accomplishment for Grade 12 students, their parents and staff. Landry says graduation ceremonies will resemble pre-COVID events this year. All high schools will hold their graduation ceremonies on Tuesday, June 28th and proms, grand marches and other graduation week events will be held between June 23rd and 27th.
Landry says it is a time to celebrate, as this class has been particularly resilient.
Landry says the venues for the graduation ceremonies will be similar to locations utilized before the pandemic began.
Landry says students and staff are not required to wear masks while attending school events, but are encouraged to wear them if they choose to do so.
