The Northumberland Region Cross Country Race was held in Truro Wednesday.
St. Andrew Junior School Girls team won the junior girls Regional title, led by Layla Austin in 1st, Flora Murphy in 3rd, Katie Wallace in 4th and Ella Robinson in 7th…also qualifying for provincials are Ali Chisholm, Margot Biernaskie and Olivia Cameron.
The St.Andrew Junior School boys won the junior boys Regional title with 5 runners in the top 8! Led by Mark Walker in 1st, Andrew Jones
in 2nd, Sam Murray in 4th, Nolan MacDougall in 5th, Andy Murray in 8th…also qualifying for provincials are Luke MacDonald and Hayden
O’Brien.
Dr JH Gillis runners also competed at Cross Country Regionals. Intermediate & Senior Girls won banners. Sarah Wallace & Calder MacKenzie raced to first place
in the Intermediate races and Alexandra Benevides won the Senior girls race. All members of the boys and girls intermediate & senior teams have advanced to race at Provincials.
