Jan 7, 2021 | Local News

The St. FX Art Gallery has launched a new video series featuring Nova Scotia artists who have contributed art quilts to the “Colour with a U” exhibition at the gallery.

For the next few weeks, gallery staff will be filming, editing and posting video interviews of the five artists. The Director and Curator of the Art Gallery Andrea Terry says the first video has been posted on its web site of Andrea Tsang Jackson of Halifax. Other artists to be interviewed include Kristi Farrier of Baddeck, Linda Finley of Bear Cove, Helene Blanchet of Margaree Valley and Regina  Marzlin of Antigonish.

Terry says for the artists producing these quilts it can take a significant amount of time.

This special programming is sponsored by Shannon and Jacqueline Stephenson of High-Crest Enterprises in Antigonish.

The exhibition, featuring 33 art quilts from across Canada reopens on January 21st at the Art Gallery and continues until February 27th. The exhibition reflects on the theme of diversity and inclusion to give “colourful” representations of our Canadian cultural identity. You can book your visit to the exhibition by going to the Art Gallery web site.
