St. FX Athletes inducts 2016 class into its Sports Hall of Fame

Two teams, a coach and six athletes are latest inductees into the St. FX Sports Hall of Fame.
It’s an impressive list which includes former CIS cross country champion and Olympian Eric Gillis; X-Men Hockey standout Al MacIsaac, now a senior executive with the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks; five time St. FX Runner of the Year Lavinia Carreau; and outstanding two way football player Bob Mincarelli who suited up for the X-men in the 1970’s.  Two multi-sport athletes were also honoured;  Deanna Corbett-White, who excelled in Basketball and Field Hockey in the 1980’s and Michelle Murray, a 2003 graduate who was an all-star in both Cross Country and Soccer.
Inducted into the Hall in the builder category is X-Women Rugby Coach Mike Cavanagh.  He’s the  winningest Rugby coach in CIS history.  His teams have won four CIS titles.
Teams inducted into the hall were the 2004 CIS champion Hockey X-Men and the1996 Football Xmen, Vanier Cup Finalists.
