St. FX Graduate David MacNeil appointed Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Energy and Regulatory Boards Tribunal

A St. FX graduate and an experienced executive and technology systems leader has been named Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Energy and Regulatory Boards Tribunal. David MacNeil will succeed Paul Allen, who retires at the end of March. Allen has served in that role for 38 years, including time with the Tribunal’s predecessor the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

The Tribunal provides administrative, advisory and human resource support to the Nova Scotia Energy Board and the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board.

MacNeil has a degree in Information Systems from St. FX; and has certifications in change management, financial management and collecting and preserving electronic documents.

Prior to his appointment to the Tribunal, MacNeil had a 23-year career with the law firm Cox & Palmer, where mostly recently he was their Chief Technology Officer. He also served as the Technology Lead for Document Management for the Mass Casualty Commission, where he developed a platform to support and manage the extensive volume of documents filed as part of their investigation.
