Three athletes and two builders were inducted into the St. FX Sports Hall of Fame last night.

The ceremony, the first event of the school’s homecoming, paid tribute to X-Men Hockey standout Andrew Culligan from the 1970’s, 1980’s X-Men Soccer Team star David Liem, and multi-sport athlete Dr. Beth McCharles, an all-star in X-Women Soccer and Hockey from 1997 to 2001. Also honoured was Dr. Cecil MacLean, who made significant contributions to the St. FX Athletic Department for 50 years and Dr. David Cudmore, a medical leader and a member of the Sports Medicine Team at St. FX for three decades.
St. FX President Dr. Kevin Wamsley told the ceremony sport is important for enrollment at the university.
Wamsley says as a gender scholar he is also thrilled to be celebrating 50 years of women’s varsity athletics at St. FX.
