St. FX University’s Human Kinetics Department’s Fit 4 Men Exercise Program Begins this Fall

Sep 28, 2020 | Local News

St. FX University’s Human Kinetics Department is about to launch a unique exercise program for men this fall.  Human Kinetics Professor Angie Kolen says this is the third year of the program, called Fit 4 Men.  Kolen says on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Amelia Saputo Centre, the one hour program includes walking interspersed with some exercises. Kolen says the program has posted a number of successes for men who have participated in the past.

Kolen says three of her students will be doing research projects related to Fit 4 Men.  Several participants in the program will be asked to wear a Fitbit for 8 weeks, using the data to help them to better meet the 24 hour movement guidelines.  A second will question participants on their experience with the Fitbit and sharing the results, while a third will measure the cohesion of the men participating in the Fit 4 Men program.  The program officially begins Tuesday night. If you would like to be part of Fit 4 Men email Angie Kolen at akolen@stfx.ca or call 902-870-2015.
