The town of Stellarton gave out awards in recognition of long-serving town staff.
5 Year Certificates were presented to Paige Draper, Nancy Cullen and Constable Gabe Vandergrift. Also receiving 5 Year Certificates were Brad Green, Andy Hartery and Jason O’Donnell. Lori Dunbar was recognized for 10 years of service, 15 years for Vince Conway & Dillon Stancombe, and Tracey Fitzpatrick was recognized for 35 years with the town.

Warden Robert Parker (left) presented Deputy Warden Wayne Murray and Councillor Chester Dewar with plaques from the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities recognizing their years of service. Murray has been a councillor for 35 years and Dewar has been a councillor for 25 years. Councillor Andy Thompson (right) is the Municipality of Pictou County’s NSFM board representative and assisted with the presentation.
Two long-serving Pictou County councilors were recognized for their service before the regular monthly meeting of council.
District 12’s Chester Dewar was given a certificate for 25 years of service, while Deputy Warden Wayne Murray of District 5 celebrates 35 years of service.
