Stellarton town council recognized a force for amateur athletics in the town, by re-naming the driveway that enters the Pioneer Coal Track as Pat Carty Way. Carty is a founding member of the Pictou County Recreation and Athletics Society, and led the drive to create the facility.
At their final meeting for the calendar year, Stellarton town council recognized four employees for their service. Lori Best was awarded a 5 year service award, Vincent Conway & Dillon Stancombe both received 10 year awards, and Tracey Fitzpatrick was presented with a 30 year service award.
