Some good news and bad news for Stellarton’s finances.
The town’s consolidated financials for the fiscal year ending March 31 were in the red, but less than expected: 517 thousand dollars versus 919 thousand projected in the budget.
Also to the good was that Stellarton did pay down some of its long term debt, and the town’s accumulated surplus – which includes operations and capital – is over $32 million.
