Stellarton Town Council approves Land Donation for SPCA Regional Centre

The SPCA in Pictou County is making plans to move and expand. Last night, Stellarton town council approved the donation of a piece of land in the Albion Business Park for the animal charity to construct a new building. In a request to council, the SPCA noted that after more than 40 years at its current location in Granton, it needs a new home with more space. The charity says Stellarton is an ideal location for a regional centre, serving Colchester, Pictou and Antigonish counties. Council unanimously approved donating the land, noting that having a larger animal shelter would help bring attention and traffic to the town.
