The Nova Scotia Health Authority announced there will be another temporary closure of the Strait Richmond Hospital Emergency department. The department will close from 8 am Saturday morning and reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday. The reason for the temporary closure is a lack of physician coverage.
Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone. For non-urgent care, please call your family doctor.
