With Covid 19 being considered a pandemic by the World Health Organization, the province’s chief medical officer of health said more cases are expected in Canada as the areas affected by the virus continue to expand.
Dr Robert Strang stated the declaration by the WHO reflects the level of global spread. He said Nova Scotia has well-established response plans in place and, as with H1N1, they are actively engaged with our partners across the health system and beyond as they prepare for cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia. The announcement by WHO does not change the work currently underway, Strang added.
