Canadians will be taking to the streets on Saturday to protest the decision by Prime Minister Trudeau and the Liberal government not to proceed with electoral reform. A number of demonstrations are being planned across the country on Saturday, including one in Antigonish. A rally and march will begin at Chisholm Park at 3 p.m.
One of the organizers of the Antigonish event is a local representative of Fair Vote Canada, Patrick Yancey. Yancey says Trudeau’s decision to abandon electoral reform is disappointing.
Yancey says it’s hoped the rallies will put pressure on the Prime Minister to reverse his position and resume work on electoral reform.
