Curling Clubs feeling the pinch after an increase in Cable TV fees

Curling clubs around the province are hoping that increased TV package fees will soon be swept away. Two months ago, curling clubs around the province noticed their cable bill increased by large amounts because they are licensed establishments that often times show sports events on their TV’s for members.
Harry Daemon of the Highlander Curling Club in St. Andrews is president for the Nova Scotia Curlers Association. He says that curling clubs used to have their own classification for cable billing, but are now labelled as sports bars. He’s hopeful that changes are on the horizon:
Daemon says that he was at a national curling conference where discussion around TV billing was mentioned. The website http://www.notasportsbar.ca says some curling clubs are facing an increase of nearly $300 per month.
