Local Distiller installed into Gin Guild

A prestigious honour for a local distiller.   Thomas Steinhart, of Steinhart Distillery in Arisaig, was one of 27 new inductees of the Gin Guild at a recent ceremony in London, England.
Steinhart is the first Canadian distiller to be installed into the Guild.
The Gin Guild was established five years ago, and has historical roots dating back to the Worshipful Company of Distillers in 1638. New members to the Guild swear to an oath, promising to protect the spirit’s quality and production while holding juniper berries, the key botanical ingredient in gin.
The Gin Guild is an industry group that aims to promote gin world-wide, enhancing its image and widening its appeal.
