Eight students froms St.FX University have been awarded 2017 Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation Scotia Scholar Awards. The foundation provides $5,000 in financial support students engaged in health research with Nova Scotia’s universities.
Jessica Delorey and Elizabeth Wallace, both of Antigonish, were recipients of the award this year. Delorey’s research looks at perceptions that pre-service and inservice teachers have toward inclusive adaptations to outdoor education. Wallace is looking at how antihistamines may affect the mitochondria in the brain following exercise.
The goal of the awards is to support the development of the next generation of highly qualified health researchers at an early stage in their career.
