A group from Pictou has presented findings to the Nova Scotia Legislature saying the workers compensation system is in need of a serious overhaul. Mary Lloyd is the Pictou County Injured Workers Association. She made a presentation before the legislature’s human resources committee on Tuesday afternoon.
Lloyd says the that there hasn’t been a review of the workers compensation system in 22 years. Not having this fixed by the current Liberal government is a failure on a campaign promise says Lloyd:
Lloyd says the system doesn’t provide injured workers with enough to live on. She would like a retired lawyer with an expertise in the workers comp to review the system and offer a solution to the outdated system.
