St. FX Rowing Head Coach Looks Forward to New Role as President of the Canadian University Rowing Association

A leader in the local rowing community has taken on a major leadership role.  Recently, the head coach of the St. FX Rowing Club Katie Edwards was elected president of the Canadian University Rowing Association.  She is the first women to be chosen as president.  Edwards says in leading the group into the future, she’s very conscious of gender in sport.
Edwards says while there are more females coaching in general in rowing, only three university programs in the country are led by women.  Edwards’ appointment as president is for a three year term.
