The president of StFX University says that any questions raised about who donates money to the school are misled. Kent MacDonald made these comments

Tuesday during a luncheon where he discussed the economic impact St.FX has on the Nova Scotia economy.
MacDonald was responding to recent reports saying that some donors involved in the building of Mulroney Hall are involved in offshore tax havens. MacDonald assured that the university has a proper vetting procedure when accepting money from donors:
It was also reported that the university tends to hand out honorary degrees to those who make large donations to the school, which MacDonald says is “misleading”. MacDonald says that all universities rely heavily on private donors, and he stands behind the senate of the school.
