Strait Pirates

While it is still mid-August, hockey teams from around the region are gearing up for the upcoming season. The Strait Pirates announced their finalized coaching staff this week, with both new and old faces being added.
Taylor Lambke will coach the team this year, and is looking forward to his new coaching staff. They will be a strong mix of experience and fresh ideas to the Pirates:
Training camp for the Pirates will kickoff on September the second, with the regular season starting on the 15th.

There is a new head coach in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League. It was announced today that Antigonish native Taylor Lambke will take over the duties for the Strait Pirates.
Lambke says he is looking forward to moving up to the next level of coaching. He wants to bring an aggressive style of play to the Pirates team:

Lambke was with the Dr. JH Gillis high school team for the past two seasons.

The Strait Pirates Junior B Hockey team has made some structural changes. At the team’s annual meeting last night, it was officially transformed into a community owned team.  Under the changes, you can be a voting member and owner of the team for one hundred dollars.
The Pirates new president Adam Rodgers says it’s an exciting time be be involved in the team, with a new energy.  At the AGM, the directors appointed Tim MacMillan as their new General Manager. He is a former GM and coach with the Pirates.  He’ll be assisted  by Brian Tracey and Brad Raike.  MacMillan says his first task is hiring a coach.
