Tate earn Bronze at national meet

This past weekend, Nova Scotia was represented by a group of elite track and field athletes at the 2016 Canadian Championships and Rio Selection Trials. We had a total of 21 athletes who came from all different regions of the province travel to the Foote Field Sports Complex in Edmonton for the chance to compete against the very best in Canada.

There were four full days of competition, Thursday though Sunday. On Thursday, the highlight of the day was Mike Tate of Antigonish earning the bronze medal in the Senior Men s 5000 meters championships with a time of 14:02.86.

Tate also competed in the Senior Men s 1500 meters championships on Saturday and placed fifth with a time of 3:57.35.
