The public library in the village of St. Peter’s has a new home.
The Farley Mowat and Claire Mowat Library in St. Peter’s hosted an official opening on Saturday , June 13th.

It’s located at the Community Hub on Main Street, which also houses the Visitor Information Centre, and Village Fitness. The Village of St. Peter’s took over the building, a former NSLC site, from the province in 2020.
Esther McDonnell, chair of the Village of St. Peter’s, said the facility received great support from residents, adding it is great they are at the point where people can access the building .
The total cost of the Community Hub was around $821,800. Funding came from a Mowat family donation of $300,000 specifically for the library, $200,000 from the federal government, $206,237 from the province, and $116,000 from the Village of St. Peter’s.
