The community of Inverness will be hosting a film festival in the fall.
The inaugural Unama’ki/Cape Breton Film Festival will be held September 25th to 27th at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts. Cape Breton Partnership Film Industry Liaison Bill Culp, one of the organizers of the festival says it will be unique in that it will feature films with a Cape Breton connection.
Culp says the line-up for the festival is still being finalized.
As a fund-raiser for the festival, there’s a screening of a recent movie shot in Cape Breton, that’s gaining a lot of attention, “Little Lorraine”. It’s slated to be shown on July 30th at Strathspey Place in Mabou. A screening that day at 7 pm was sold out in a matter of days. A second screening has been added, also on July 30th at 3 pm.
