Three Local Schools Receive Grants from National Music Education Charity

Music programs at three local schools are getting a boost. MusiCounts, a music education charity associated with the Juno Awards is contributing $1 million to 95 schools across the country through its Band Aid program. Music programs at these schools can receive up to $15,000 to purchase instruments, equipment and resources.

Tamarac Education Centre in Port Hawkesbury is being provided a grant of $9,000, while Trenton Elementary School is getting $5,000 and Northumberland Regional High School in Alma will receive $13,500. This year, 18 schools in Atlantic Canada are being provided with $218,500 in funding.
