Northeast Nova RCMP say three motorists were pulled over last week in Pictou and Antigonish Counties for excessive speeding, also known as stunting.
Police say on May 24th, officers clocked a vehicle travelling 162 kilometres an hour in a 110 kilometre zone on Highway 104 Westbound in New Glasgow. Police say the driver was a 39-year-old from Studio City, California.
Two other drivers were charged with stunting on May 26th. The first incident took place on Highway 7 in Lochaber, Antigonish County when a car was speeding at 142 kilometres an hour in a 90 kilometre zone. Police charged a 21-year-old motorist from West Lochaber. The second of the day occurred on Highway 104 at Dagger Woods, Antigonish County where police stopped a car recorded at a speed of 158 kilometres an hour in a 100 kilometre zone. A 56-year-old man from Portugal Cove-St. Phillips, Newfoundland and Labrador was charged.
The charge of stunting carries a fine of more than $2,400, an immediate 7 day license suspension and seizure of the vehicle.
