Fire has destroyed a farmhouse near Salt Springs, Pictou County. No one was hurt in the blaze,
reported shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday evening. No one was home at the time when the fire broke out on Highway 4
Three people were displaced in the fire, a couple and their teenaged daughter are staying with relatives for now. They are being assisted by Canadian Red Cross volunteers with emergency purchases like food, clothing and other basics.
The Canadian Red Cross is looking for more volunteers in Pictou County and throughout the Atlantic provinces to help people impacted by events like residential fires or other disasters and emergencies. More information is online at redcross.ca/volunteer.
