Three Pictou County Motorists Facing Impaired Driving Charges

Pictou RCMP dealt with three instances of suspected impaired driving in less than 12 hours.

 On August 3, at 9:10 a.m., the RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the MacLellan’s Brook area. Police arrested a 24-year-old man from Pictou County for impaired operation of a conveyance. He provided breath samples which were twice the legal limit. The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on September 23.

 At 4:32 p.m., police responded to a single ATV collision on the Trenton Connector in Mount William. The operator and passenger, both from Pictou County, were transported to the Aberdeen Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 36-year-old man, showed signs of impairment and he provided a blood sample. The matter remains under investigation.

 At 7:55 p.m., police patrolling in the town of Pictou conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle, due to several vehicle defects. Police noted signs of impairment and arrested the 28-year-old Pictou County driver for impaired operation of a conveyance. The driver provided breath samples which were twice the legal limit. The driver was released and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on September 30.

 

Police thanked the public for calling to report possible impaired drivers, which happened in two of the incidents.
