Town of Antigonish interested in adding more Electric Car Charging Stations

Sep 17, 2019 | Local News

The Town of Antigonish is looking to add more electric car charging stations.

During last night’s regular meeting of council, members voted to apply to the Pan Maritime Provinces Municipal Electric Vehicle Charging Station initiative, which could see the town add up to 20 charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Antigonish Mayor Laurie Boucher says the cost for the town would be around $85,000 should they be selected to participate.

Boucher said the application will go in and council is hoping they will be selected to be part of the initiative. They have some spots in mind for the charging stations, such as by the Antigonish Arena.
